Siena – Great Dining in Mashpee

by

This past Saturday, we went to Siena Italian Bar and Grill in Mashpee Commons for dinner. The restaurant was pretty full, but not super busy – at 5:00pm were able to walk right in without reservations and immediately get a table for six in front of the large bank of windows overlooking the outdoor dining area, and beyond to the bustle of the Commons.

The wait staff was extremely attentive and friendly – Always a smiling face, but never an empty water glass. My dining companions enjoyed the crispy fired calamari (“Excellent! The best I’ve ever had,” raved my brother-in-law) while I sampled the fried zucchini. We were brought fresh baked rustic bread and olive oil for dipping while we waited for the main course. The wait was a pleasantly short one while we chatted and enjoyed the beautiful Tuscan atmosphere.

Our entree choices ran the gamut from simple and delicious brick oven pizzas, to an incredible spicy Tuscan Seafood Stew, Baked Chicken, and a Chicken and Penne dish with a pepperoncini and Marscapone sauce. The portions were enormous – a fantastic value for the money.

Siena is a fabulous spot for fine dining at affordable prices. The have a great lunch menu, and can accommodate private parties. As we only live around the corner, getting there was no problem. It’s only a short ten-minute drive from all of our resorts in Falmouth. Be sure to try Siena the next time you visit Mashpee Commons. You’ll be sure to retun again and again!
