Like Nowhere Else!

Provincetown’s slogan is “Like Nowhere Else”, and there never was a truer statement. Just a short ride from our Falmouth resorts, it’s a good spot for a day trip, but there are lots of nice guest houses to spend a night if you have the time. P-Town is a town that you can easily spend more than one day. It’s a can’t-miss destination for all ages and interests.

Stop in at the Portuguese Bakery on Commercial Street for a freshly-made malasada (Portuguese donut) and a coffee, and then sit on one of the many benches around the corner to enjoy the morning and look out over the pier. (Get there early! They go fast!) The pier is a great spot to go out for whale watching or sport fishing.

Go for a walk at Race Point Beach or the Dunes. Art’s Dune Tours offers one hour guided tours through National Seashore Park in the air-conditioned comfort of a fleet of Chevy Suburbans. They pick up in the center of town near the MacMillan Pier.

Hungry? Most people go to the Lobster Pot for lunch or dinner (The Ultimate Veggie Sandwich is out of this world!) but if you’re looking for a quick bite, stop in at Spiritus Pizza. Not only are they open late, but the pizza is indescribably delicious, and the ice cream is pretty great, too!

There are just loads of shops from great independent bookstores to pet supplies, and great vintage collectibles. As a former DJ, my favorite store is P-Town Spin. Stocked with the best and rarest vinyl and CDs, it’s dance music heaven.

Provincetown is a very open community, and the nightlife there reflects that diversity. Summertime nightlife is abundant in P-Town. There’s a hotspot to match just about every interest – just walk down Commercial Street on a warm summer night and you’ll see that there’s lots of interesting sights and sounds overflowing into the street…

The Pilgrim Monument is rich in history, as is the town library. There is a major restoration going on at the library right now. The whole community is renowned for its art and theater. The Provincetown Film Festival is taking place this year from June 18-22.

Just one trip all the way up Route 6 to Provincetown will prove to you that that community is truly Like Nowhere Else!
