Enjoying the Mid-Cape

September 23, 2008

This weekend looks to be a beautiful one – sure, we’re supposed to get a little rain Friday, but it may turn out to be a nice one. Sunny days, not too hot, you can’t ask for a better weekend on Cape Cod. And does the weather really matter? It’s always a beautiful day when you’re on vacation!

I just moved to Yarmouth last month, and am still exploring what there is to do on the Mid-Cape.  Now that we offere rentals at the Ocean Mist Resort in South Yarmouth, you’ll need to know what to do and where to go once you get here.

Since I’ve moved here, I’ve been overwhelmed with getting settled in my new place, but have managed to see a few things. We checked out Dick & Ellie’s Flea Market in Dennis. They’re open on weekends through the end of October. There’s lots of bargains to be found!

Stop in for a great lunch at the Hearth & Kettle in South Yarmouth. There’s locations all over the Cape, but this particular restaurant had the best service I’ve experienced so far. Check out the grilled chicken wrap sandwich with mango salsa! You won’t be disappointed.

As the seasons change, there’s much more mid-Cape happenings and places to visit on the way!

A Summer with R&R Charters

September 5, 2008

It has been a another successful summer of boating with R&R Charters. The season started off slow as the weather did not want to cooperate but once the rain clouds broke the boat has been close to full every night.

The highlight of the summer was the Illumination Night cruise which departed for Martha’s Vineyard at 6:00pm on 8/20. The boat was full of families eagerly awaiting the site of all the ginger bread houses in Oak Bluffs lit up.  Everyone who went on the cruise said they had a great time and can not wait to go again next year.

The boat will be running until Columbus day this fall so if anyone would like to enojy a nice cruise please call Inn Season Resorts Harbor Walk (508-548-4300) and we will get you set up!

Cape Cod Rail Trail

September 5, 2008

Although located some 45 minutes away from the Inn Season Falmouth properties the Cape Cod Rail Trail is a must visit for anyone who enjoys a nice peaceful bike ride. The trail offers many beautiful views of scenic coves and outlets from Dennis all the way to Provincetown.  While on the trail you will also come across many restaurants where you can stop and enjoy a bite to eat.

I really enjoy the rail trail because it is great for everyone, if you are someone who likes to ride fast and for long periods of time it is great and it is also great for those who like to take there time and enjoy the Cape Cod scenery.

Also if you come to the Cape and did not bring your bikes it is also a great trail to go for a walk on. There is also a bike rental store at the beginning of the trail so if you would like to go for a ride instead of walk you will still have access to a bike.
