A Child’s Christmas
in Wales

by Dylan Thomas

directed by Joe Richards

— Performed by the puppets of Le Theatricule Stoique —

Saturday, December 18
3:00 PM and 5:00 PM
Falmouth Public Library,
Hermann Foundation Meeting Room

Small children are invited to sit on a carpet in front of the puppet stage
and collect the wrapped candy thrown over the transom
at intervals during the show.

Produced by Tom Lyons
Narrated by Dan Tritle and Cleo Zani
Puppeteers: Lafe Coppola, Janet Gardner, Jeanie Lohnes, Gina Peters

This charming show, which originated in 2000 in Cotuit,
has become a tradition for this Woods Hole Theater Company troupe,
and a Christmas treat for parents and children.

The puppets are the invention of the popular late Yarmouth
illustrator/playwright Edward Gorey, whose “entertainments”
often graced the stages of Cotuit and Woods Hole.

A Child’s Christmas in Wales is entertaining for adults
and children alike. It’s a one-act play, about 45 minutes long, with an
adult remembering childhood holidays.

The story is told by a narrator sitting next to the puppet stage
with the action being performed by the amazing finger puppets
of Le Theatricule Stoique. There’s lots of activity, including
blizzards of snow and showers of wrapped candy from time to time.

It’s our gift to you, and a presentation
that’s not to be missed!
