Highfield Hall, 56 Highfield Dr, off Depot Ave, Falmouth

Don’t miss the inaugural presentation in this new Highfield series. Bonnie Kavanagh, nurse, herbalist, and now cookbook author, will talk about the inexpensive, healthy and nutritious recipes in her book, Rubies in the Sand. She will share her experiences researching and writing about the native cranberry. “Their health benefits make them a virtual power food, not a seasonal treat,” she says. “People should think of using them beyond the traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. With the recent trend in ‘eating local’, showcasing the cranberry makes an awful lot of sense.” Help us welcome Bonnie to Highfield Hall, learn more about our local super fruit and sample some of her recipes. $5 donation at the door supports Highfield programs. Books will be available for purchase or, if you already have one, Ms. Kavanagh will be happy to sign it.
