Michael LeBlanc and his wife Amy Foss of Wolf Talk have been living with wolves and have studied them in the wild and in captivity for over 30 years. All of Wolf Talk’s seven wolves are state and federally registered and licensed and have been raised from cubs at their Wolf Talk facility. These two one-hour live wolf programs will dispel myths about wolves and explore their social structure and eating habits, with time for photographs. Learn about wolf behavior in captivity and in the wild. A rare opportunity to appreciate this beautiful animal up-close with a wolf display and a question and answer session. This live animal program, featuring the timber wolf Denahee, will take place at 2:30 and 4:30 pm.  Fee: $12/adults, $8/child.

The 2011 Art in the Garden Tour sponsored by the Unitarian Church of Barnstable will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This annual sell-out event features six beautiful Cape Cod gardens on a route from historic Cummaquid to quaint Craigville. An artist will be present in each garden creating a new work. In one garden find our newly expanded Marketplace to purchase garden gifts and goodies. Bring your friends and family along to enjoy this quintessential Cape Cod tradition. Tickets are $25 each for the tour or $35 to include a box lunch. Parents can now join their children in our canoe-catamaran out on the pond at Green Briar. A staff naturalist steers you past the banks in search of turtles and frogs. All canoe-related equipment and nets are provided. Suitable for children ages 3 and up with an adult. Duration is about 45 minutes. Call to register for each session.  Fee: $8/adult, $6/child.  Capacity for each trip is up to 4 adults and up to 6 children.

MARINE BIOLOGICAL LABORATORY SUMMER TOURS

The MBL offers weekday tours late June through the end of August. There are two tours daily, Monday through Friday at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Tours last approximately an hour and consist of a video presentation, a visit to the Marine Resources Center for a look at the marine animals used in MBL research, and a walking tour of the campus.  Groups are limited to 15 people per tour. Reservations are required and can be made in the Communications Office on the second floor of Candle House or by calling 508-289-7623. Please make your reservations at least one week in advance. For safety reasons, children under the age of 5 are not permitted in the Marine Resources Center, although they may view the video with the group. School groups are not accepted in the summer. Parking for tours is not available in MBL lots. Street parking is metered and competitive. However, a public trolley runs back and forth between Falmouth (where there is public parking available) and Woods Hole Village on the half hour during summer. Please make travel plans accordingly.
