MASHPEE — Several road closures slated for the next few weeks are not expected to cause substantial delays for drivers, Mashpee Department of Public Works Director Catherine Laurent said.

Beginning this week, two intersections on Great Neck Road North will be under construction, and another road will close on Nov. 14, she said.

Across from town hall, the intersection of Collins Lane and Great Neck Road North will be realigned. Collins Lane will be closed to all traffic except residents, but should be reopened by the end of the week when construction finishes, Laurent said.

On Monday, the intersection of Great Neck Road North and Quashnet Road was closed, she said. Currently, Quashnet Road has two intersections with Great Neck that will be replaced by a single intersection in the same area.

Quashnet Road will not be closed during construction, Laurent said.

Neither construction project should cause severe backups on Great Neck Road North, she added.

Beginning Nov. 14, the public boat ramp on Mashpee Neck Road will be closed while workers complete stormwater and drainage improvements in the area. Funded through a Cape Cod Water Resource Restoration grant, the work aims to improve the nearby Shoestring Bay shellfish beds, which have been closed on multiple occasions, Laurent said.

The boat ramp will reopen for Thanksgiving weekend, Laurent said.

***Great Neck Road North is the road taken off the Mashpee Rotary which heads towards Sandwich (passes the 99 Restaurant & Cooke’s Seafood).  The closures appear to be at the end of the road where Great Neck Rd North meets Route 130/Main St.
