It’s a Native tradition to celebrate the first harvest of the new growing season: Strawberries! Strawberry shortcake and chilled strawberry soup are on the menu at the Patuxet Café today, as we enjoy the fresh new fruit of spring. Native people gave thanks regularly for harvested gifts like the strawberry. A record total 236 former Cape Leaguers populate major league rosters. The Cape Cod League is considered one of the leading amateur leagues in the country. Paddle on a chain of freshwater ponds in Wellfleet as the stars come out at twilight. All equipment is provided.Ages 12 – 17 welcome with an adult. Pre-registration required. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Directions to the meeting place will be given upon registration. Please arrive and check-in 15 minutes before the start of the program. Previous (recent) paddling experience and good swimming ability are required. All equipment is provided; all participants must wear life jackets. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, windbreaker, hat, and drinking water. There are no facilities, such as restrooms or water fountains, at the meeting place. Please note our cancellation policy: In order to receive a refund, you must notify us of your cancellation at least 7 days before the program begins. If we cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to change programs, schedules, and instructors, and to cancel programs due to low enrollment or unfavorable weather.
