View the elegant rooms of Highfield Hall in all their holiday finery as local designers and decorators take holiday décor to the next level with theme rooms and new displays. This family-fun event will feature musical performances, dance demonstrations, theatre presentations, singing,  and ongoing children’s activities.

New this year, Highfield staff and volunteers will roll out their expertise to offer special presentations from bread baking in the kitchen, to Robert Wyatt at the piano, to flower arranging tips. There will be loads of new activities for all to enjoy throughout the six-day event.

Our popular gift gallery will again feature a selection of artisan-made wares and small art works for holiday gift giving. And will you be the winner of our iPad giveaway? You’ll receive an iPad raffle ticket with every paid admission – wouldn’t that be a nice Christmas gift!

Join Heritage Museums & Gardens for our annual celebration of lights. This year, we are thrilled to feature some striking additions to the display, including large lighted snowflakes suspended from the trees, rhododendron trees created with actual branches from our collection and lights and many new interior decorations made from natural materials from Heritage’s grounds. Plus, for the first time, we will open Hidden Hollow to Gardens Aglow visitors where they can play music and enjoy activities on the stage. In addition to these new features, we will host nightly performances from local musical and dance groups in the Automobile Gallery. St. Nick will hold court in the Model T. Gingerbread houses created by local companies and students will be on display. Kids can express their creativity with craft projects in the North Wing of the American Art & Carousel Gallery. Children and adults alike can take a spin (or two) on our vintage carousel while holiday tunes play. Don’t miss this holiday tradition and enjoy the grounds of Heritage in a whole new light. Tickets: $7 /member adults, $4 /member children, $10 / non-member adults, $5 / non-members children. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate the day of the event. 3RD ANNUAL GLASSBLOWERS’ CHRISTMAS AND CELEBRATING SNOW GLOBES SPECIAL EXHIBIT

This festive season hundreds of unique glass ornaments will adorn trees made by some of the region’s finest glass artists such as McDermott Glass Studio, Glass Studio on Cape Cod, Anchor Bend Studio, Christopher Belleau, Boyce Art Glass, Federici Designs, Billy Mayer, Elias Studio, Sayuri Kingsbury and Fritz Glass. The visitor will be transported into a magical display of dazzling color and childhood memories. Shoppers’ Delight – the Museum’s Open House will be on Saturday, December 1 from 9:30am to 5:00pm and includes a “Mystery Discount” and refreshments. The decorations on the Glassblowers’ trees are available for purchase as well as an array of glittering glass objects on display in the Museum Store. Please note that all objects for purchase are made by local and national artists. Also, The Sandwich Glass Museum is proud to present its special holiday exhibition, Celebrating Snow Globes. Snow globes or domes have captured the imagination for over 100 years.  Who can resist turning and swirling these small worlds and watching the gently falling snow?   The exhibit will feature dozens of snow globes manufactured in the United States and abroad and will reflect upon their influence on popular culture. Admission: $6.00/ adults, $1.25/ kids 6-14.
