Take Home a Memory of Cape Cod

February 3, 2014

Art Bars are becoming quite the rage – especially here on Cape Cod.  Whether you enjoy one of the smaller events held at a local restaurant (The British Beer Company in Falmouth has held a few Art Parties) or you head to a workshop held at one of the many art studios and centers on Cape Cod, it’s a great way to spend time with friends or loved ones and go home with more than just a memory!

The Cape Cod Art Bar, located in the Mashpee Commons, is a really fun place that offers classes, private events, and just a really good time.

They offer a calendar of events and you simply select which event you want to attend.  Once you select, you and your friends sign up either online or via phone.  They allow you to BYOB so if you would like to bring some wine or a tasty beverage, you are more than welcome to do so!

After you get there, they supply you with all the supplies and you just paint!

It’s a great way to spend time together and go home with more than just a memory of your time together.  You end up taking home a beautiful unique painting that you made yourself!

Next time you are visiting us, check out their schedule and enjoy a fun night out!

The Lanes: Bowl & Bistro

January 26, 2013

Looking for something to do on a cold winter day, or maybe it’s just rainy?- Look no further!  The Mashpee Commons has a new venue called The Lanes, it is a bistro and bowling alley in one!  During the day children are welcome, however after 9pm The Lanes turns into a 21+ venue, offering alcohol and even musical entertainment!  They offer wines, beers and mixed drinks which is nice for the adults who want to enjoy a casual drink while bowling.  I went early in the evening with friends and although their were many adults who were drinking, it was no issue for the folks with kids there.  The management has done a great job keeping up with that no doubt.  When you walk in there is a bar and dining area where you can also wait to bowl.  They have large flat screen TV’s showing the waitlist for bowling so you can keep up with your placement.  If it’s quiet then no worries there will be no wait.  Up a few stairs is the bowling alley and more tables to wait or eat at.  They offer a good amount of lanes, I think maybe 10.  They can put bumpers up for the kids as well.  The menu seems to have a nice variety to it, but definitely has options coinciding with the “bistro” aspect of the name.  I tried their fried pickles which were great, and ended with their mini cannoli’s that were just the right size to share and quench my sweet tooth!  This place seems to have it all, take a look at their website for more information:
